Mayfield Building Contractor came to us highly recommended by some close friends of ours. Vito and his fantastic team put in a new kitchen and bathroom and their work was faultless. Our house now looks stunning and they worked professionally, on time and to budget (and provided many a laugh and joke along the way!!). Within meeting them all for a few minutes I was confident enough to leave them all alone to get on with the jobs in hand and trusted them and their decisions implicitly. Vito did an excellent job in our recently fitted new Kitchen. Vito and his team where incredibly reliable, tidy and creative in their approach. The work was done on time and within the accurate quote provided, which was good value for money. Mayfield was able to cover all aspects of the kitchen renewal, from removing the old kitchen down to tiling the floor. Vito kept us informed of progress and accommodated any changes required or good idea's his guys had. I would recommend to use them over the high street brands own kitchen fitting service, which was expensive in comparison. Since this project, we have had Vito back to carry out some more work in our house, fitting a loft ladder and boarding out the loft. Again, same good service.

Choosing a builder is always for us a difficult task, you want someone you can trust and who cares about the quality of the job as much as you do. Vito has been an outstanding builder from bid stage through to snagging, he is always willing to offer advice and discuss changes to plans throughout the course of the build, advising on the most appropriate action. He's been on site with the team every day from the point we agreed to start work until the day he finished. Mayfield Building Contractor have recently finished work on our house - an extension to the playroom and kitchen. We met with a number of companies and found Vito to be professional, punctual and competitive in providing a quote and advice. On this basis we decided to proceed with Vito to carry out our home improvements. We found Vito and his crew to be hardworking, consistent, good time-keepers and very pleasant. We had our barthroom and an en-suite refitted by Mayfield and are very happy with the results (pictures are on the website- st albans bathroom jan 2011). Vito was happy to follow our design completely, even though it was a tad unusual and with fittings we had bought. He was able to get around any problems that arose such as beams under the floors we didnt know about by sinking pipes into the walls - he is obviously very experienced and able when it comes to brick work, carpentry and electrics - as well as great tiling and plumbing - it made life simple having all trades in one! We fully recommend Mayfield and friends have used him since and are very happy too. The work was completed from strip out to complete in two weeks as planned.

Vito was recommended to us by friends who praised his good value and flexibility (e.g. happy to fit components they had bought cheaply on the internet). We asked him to undertake a kitchen extension that one other builder had doubted was possible. Vito was creative in finding a solution to make it work, completed the work to a high standard and within budget, and the overall finish of the job was excellent. We have since recommended him to others and would use him again ourselves.

The initial, comprehensive quote gave us reassurance that Vito had a professional attitude to his work and this has been borne out by the end result, with which we are delighted. Vito kept us up-to- date at all times with the progress of the work, supplies and contractor turned up when expected and the house was left in a tidy state at the end of every evening. Moreover, Vito had some very good suggestions, which we incorporated into our designs, and no request was ever too much trouble for him. Vito's team were at all times polite, friendly, and mindful of the fact that we have small children in the house. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mayfield Building Contractor to anybody looking to renovate their home.

During the tender process Vito was the only builder that did what he said he would when he said he would. We thought this boded well for the job itself - and it did. Our only reservation was his strong accent and whether we could understand each other but you soon get used to it so don't let that put you off!! Vito is a great problem solver and not afraid to make suggestions. He's pretty calm and unflappable and nothing really phases him. We are thrilled with the work and would happily recommend Vito (and in fact already have).
